Webinar Series
Webinar Information:
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) a virus that attacks the body’s immune system; and if left untreated, can lead to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS); in 2019 the Center for disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated almost 1.2 million individuals in the United States had HIV. Between 2015 to 2019 the annual number of diagnosis has decreased 9%; while there have been great strides in decreasing numbers of new cases since the CDC’s September 24, 1982 release of the term AIDS and first case definition was implemented.
Two important tools which have found to be effective prevention options, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) can protect your patients at risk for HIV and improve health outcomes.
