PHP March 2021: Video Game Disorders
Webinar Series
Webinar Information:
Video games are now the fastest-growing entertainment media, generating more sales than the movie and music industry combined. The pandemic has created and exacerbated multiple risk factors for both gaming and gambling disorder and, not surprisingly, problematic video gaming and gambling are on the rise for both youth and adults. This webinar will discuss the difference between healthy recreational and problematic gaming, build awareness of the signs and symptoms of a potential gaming disorder and its relationship to gambling elements, and shed light on the impact of these problems on children, adults, and the family as a whole. Participants will be provided information on resources for individuals and their family members who are dealing with a gaming or gambling disorder.
Public Health Perspectives is a free online webinar series designed to showcase programs impacting public health. PHP discusses program design, lessons learned, and creative solutions with public health professionals around the nation. Each PHP webinar takes approximately 1-hour to complete.
