Train the Trainer Program for Cultural Competency Training for Healthcare Facilities (449.103)


This training is designated for State of Nevada employees only.

The Train the Trainer Course for CCT for Healthcare Facilities, is intended for Nevada state employees who are interested in providing training on cultural competency that meets NRS 449.103. This course is intended to train individuals to provide the Cultural Readiness Training for State Workers that is currently offered through the Larson Institute. This is a 2 day, in-person course.  After participating in the course, attendees will be able to submit an application to HCQC at DHHS to become an approved trainer.

The Program:

The course will cover essential elements in facilitation in order to host effective and engaging trainings on cultural competency.  Participants will learn how to facilitate the Cultural Readiness Training within their respective State offices or organizations. 

What’s included?

Registration in an asynchronous Cultural Competency training. 

Two-day Train of Trainer course on October 3 and 4 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (location is listed below).  The training will provide Instruction on how to effectively teach the included content.

Access to the training materials. The training material is static as an “approved by the State of Nevada” training program. No changes to the slides or materials are allowed to prevent voiding the approval by the state.  

Updates, training evaluation and additional training as required and requested.

What’s required?

Completion of online course prior to October 3, 2022, and participation in the two-day Train of Trainer course.

Maintaining the integrity and intent of the content.
