Centers within the Larson Institute have planned, implemented, and evaluated a variety of trainings, webinar series, conferences, and events to address current and emerging public health needs. Key target areas have included: eliminating health disparities, sexual and gender minority health, rural health, opioid prevention, HIV prevention, effective use of behavioral health interventions, public health workforce development, and most recently, COVID-19 response.

Opioid Data To Action

The Overdose Data to Action Program supports the state in getting high quality, comprehensive and timelier data on opioid prescribing and mortality, and to use those data to inform the state’s prevention and interventions efforts.

Covid-19 Response

The COVID-19 response program address COVID-19 misinformation by educating the community and facilitating dialogue, focusing specifically on the Latinx population and students 18-24 years old.

    The SANE program provides Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners training and certification for registered nurses to expand services to sexual assault victims in rural areas of Nevada.

  • FBI

    The Faith Based Initiative is a collaborative project with the Nevada Faith and Health Coalition to promote health and address HIV/AIDs in faith communities.

  • HIAP

    Health in All Policies aims to create a collaboration among government and non-government agencies to incorporate health considerations into the decision-making process of policy makers and stakeholders for the improvement of the health of the community as a whole (state, county, city, neighborhood).

    The Health Equity Webinar Series is a free online webinar series designed to showcase dynamic work being accomplished to enhance health equity opportunities. This series discusses different innovative implementations, strategies, best practices, success stories, and experiences impacting health equity across communities.
